Choose the right URLin.bio link type

Choose a link type by what should happen when someone opens it. A bio page presents content; a short link redirects; other link types focus on a file, a contact, or an event.

Which type matches my task?

  • Biolink page: publish a small landing page with several links, content blocks, social profiles, forms, or products. Start with Create a biolink page.
  • Shortened link: send a visitor to a destination URL using a shorter address. Use Create a short link.
  • File link: share an uploaded document or other permitted file. Read Share a file.
  • Vcard link: share contact details that a visitor can save. Read Create a vCard link.
  • Event link: share event details and a calendar-friendly action. Read Create an event link.
  • QR code: encode an address or information so someone can scan it. A QR code is a way to reach content, not a replacement for the page or link behind it. Read Static versus dynamic QR codes.

Can I combine these features?

Yes. A QR code can open a bio page, a short URL can point to an event, and a bio page can include a file or contact block. Keep the underlying address stable once you put it in printed materials.

Do I need a custom domain?

You can create URLin.bio addresses without buying or configuring another domain. If you need a branded domain and do not see a domain option in your account, ask support about availability before changing any DNS records.
