Advanced redirect controls change how a short link opens its destination. Use them for a specific need and test the complete visitor journey after saving.
What does App linking do?
Open App linking to review the options available for supported mobile apps. Supply the addresses requested by the editor and test on devices with and without the relevant app installed. A desktop test alone does not establish the mobile behavior.
What is cloaking?
Cloaking tries to display the destination through an embedded presentation rather than an ordinary redirect. Some websites reject embedding, so an address that opens normally may fail when cloaked. Turn cloaking off and use a standard redirect if the destination does not permit it.
What does HTTP Status control?
The editor offers permanent and temporary redirect choices, including options intended for form submissions. Permanent redirects can be cached, making later destination changes harder to verify. Use the choice that matches your intended behavior and avoid changing method-preserving options without understanding the destination.
The editor explicitly notes that the selected HTTP status is only sent when pixels and cloaking are not being used.
How do protection and splash pages affect the journey?
A password, sensitive-content warning, or splash page adds a step before the final destination. Test those steps in a fresh browser session. If your goal is a direct redirect, review these controls before diagnosing the link as broken.
