Custom code is an advanced option for a bio page. Start with standard blocks whenever they provide the result you need; custom code requires your own testing and may depend on your plan.
Where does each type of code belong?
- Custom HTML block: content or markup inside a block.
- Iframe embed block: an external page that permits embedding, using the fields requested by the block.
- Markdown block: formatted text written in Markdown.
- Settings → Advanced → Custom CSS: styling changes for the page.
- Settings → Advanced → Custom JS: custom page behavior.
How should I make a code change?
- Keep a copy of the previous code so you can restore it.
- Add the smallest change that achieves the intended result. Keep code for the correct field separate.
- Save, then test the public page on desktop and mobile.
- Confirm that navigation, forms, payment actions, and other blocks still work. Remove or revert the change if they do not.
What should never go in public page code?
Do not put secret API keys, account passwords, payment secrets, or private customer data into HTML or JavaScript. Visitors can inspect code delivered to their browser. Use the dedicated Pixels or Payment processors settings for supported integrations.
Why does an iframe not load?
The external service may block framing or require a different public URL. If the service will not allow embedding, use a normal link to it. Custom code cannot reliably override the source website’s embedding restrictions.
